Inclusive Tourism
Inclusive Tourism embeds the principles of ‘design for all’ to create accessible and inclusive spaces and places for people to participate in new and existing experiences.
Council's Inclusive Tourism Strategy(PDF, 50MB) -- developed in consultation with local businesses and the broader community -- follows a Universal Design approach for the design of places, products, information, communication and policy to be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people.
Bellingen Shire Council was the first council in NSW to have an adopted Inclusive Tourism Strategy, leading the way in the local government sector. We are championing the need for the incorporation of Universal Design principles in everything we do for the benefit of everyone in our community.
The Bellingen Shire Accessible Tourism Guide(PDF, 1MB) is now available to download and share with visitors.
