Accessible amenities
To find out where the accessible amenities are located throughout the Shire please visit the National Public Toilet Map website maintained by the Federal Government.
Amenities are unlocked during daylight hours. Some accessible amenities require a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK).
The Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) is an innovative system that enables people with disability to gain 24/7 access to a network of public facilities.
Council is offering the Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) at a cost of $20 to eligible Bellingen Shire residents. MLAK key holders will have 24/7 access to MLAK keyed designated accessible public toilets across the Bellingen Shire LGA.The MLAK key opens all accessible toilets displaying the MLAK symbol and will allow access to over 350 facilities throughout NSW. The MLAK sign is visible on those facilities fitted with MLAK.
MLAK toilets within our Shire are located in:
- Maam Gaduying Park (in front of Council Chambers), Hyde Street, Bellingen
- Church Street Amenities, Church Street, Bellingen
- Bellingen Park - Kiosk near the Grandstand
- Bellingen Showground, Hammond Street, North Bellingen
- Dangar Falls, Coramba Road, Dorrigo
- Urunga Visitor Information Centre, Urunga
Availability is restricted to people who have a mobility difficulty, people who hold a disability parking pass or who have written authority.
To order a MLAK key from Council, please complete and submit the online MLAK Application Form below. Hard copy applications are available at Council's Admin Building: 33 Hyde St, Bellingen.
