Grants and Funding
Grants are a great way to source funds for projects and services that might otherwise not be in the reach of community organisations and small businesses. While it might require a bit of time and effort at times, the payoff can be very rewarding.
There are a number of resources and tools that you can access to help support making applications and also researching what funding is available for various types of organisations and projects. More information regarding these is provided below.
Available Grant Funding
Council's Community Development Officer collates and circulates a regular email update to local organisations, businesses and individuals about new and upcoming sources of local, State and Commonwealth grant funding that are available. To receive these updates, contact council@bellingen.nsw.gov.au to request that your email address be added to the grants' distribution list.

Are you a community group applying for a grant on a Council owned asset?
Bellingen Shire Council has a process that all community groups and organisations must follow when applying for a grant on a council owned asset.
In the first instance, please contact the Group Leader Technical Services at Council to discuss your proposal. In addition, a Property Owners Consent application(PDF, 207KB) must be completed for any grant applications that are to be submitted by a committee or user group to seek Council approval for proposed works. A Development Application (DA) may also be required depending on the nature of the works.
Council can assist with applications and can provide letters of support, assist with quotes, budget, working out priority areas and advise on whether a DA is required.
We have created a Factsheet-Grant-applications.pdf(PDF, 205KB) for you to read that outlines the process.
