Smart Metering

Council is in the process of rolling out smart meters in the Shire. This will allow residents and businesses to monitor their water usage, and get alerts for things like leaks and high water use. The smart meter roll out is expected to take a number of years.

What exactly is a Smart Meter?

A smart meter is a device that automatically records water use, and has the ability to electronically report water usage information at regular intervals. It also provides instant access to data, and can highlight issues and trends to better inform how we manage the water network.
