Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA)
Council was successful in receiving funding under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) program funded by NSW Resilience and Transport for NSW to complete Essential Public Asset Restoration Works caused by recent extreme flooding events experienced in our Shire.
Location
Various locations across the Bellingen Shire.
Cost
Repairs are funded through the DRFA which are facilitated through Transport for NSW.
Timeframe
Remediation works will be completed over the coming two years.
Project Scope
Remediation work will restore 90 flood damaged sites across the Shire, which will be composed of pavement reconstruction, embankment stabilisation and storm water infrastructure repair.
Community Impacts
There will be traffic control on the road periodically, meaning there may be some delays. Day road closures may be required to allow for specialised activities in narrow spaces. It is expected these road closures would occur between 9am-3:30pm to minimise disruption. Notifications to the community will be provided on these occasions via online channels and VMS boards.
The Construction team
To complete this substantial works program, Council will utilise both internal resources and engage contractors through an open tender process.
