Bellingen Shire Council, in partnership with the NSW Government, has committed to delivering the revisited plan for the Sewering Coastal Villages Project. The project will see a comprehensive upgrade of our sewer system, responding to the needs of our coastal communities as well as addressing environmental concerns of the Kalang and Bellinger River.

Urunga Boardwalk Upgrades

The Urunga Boardwalk Upgrade project received $3.96 million in funding secured from Round Two of the NSW Government's Regional Tourism Activation Fund. The primary objective of the project is to create a seamless pathway along the 1-kilometer boardwalk, catering to visitors of all abilities.

Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA)

This program will fund the restoration of 90 flood damaged sites across the Shire.

LED Street Light Upgrade Project

Work to upgrade 663 streetlights to energy efficient technology will begin soon, as part of a major energy efficiency project that will save thousands in electricity bills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for the ratepayers of Bellingen Shire Council.
