‘Olympics and Paralympics LIVE’ broadcast coverage at Library
Published on 17 July 2024
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are set to take centre stage at Bellingen Shire Library, with both the Olympics and Paralympics to be streamed on a large screen in an exciting new initiative at the venue.
With more than 200 countries participating in over 400 events, the Olympics are where the world comes to compete, feel inspired and come together. The Olympics will kick off with the opening ceremony on 26 July 2024, followed by the Paralympics, which will get underway on 29 August 2024.
A section of the library will be set aside during regular opening hours (Tuesday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:00pm and Saturdays 9:30am – 12:00pm) for ‘Olympics & Paralympics LIVE’ with a large screen and comfortable seating for patrons and visitors to relax and enjoy the screenings. Although Bellingen is eight hours ahead of Paris, there will be plenty of action to view and catch up on.
‘It may be Summer in Paris and Winter in Bellingen,’ said Shire Librarian Rowena Sierant, ‘But our library will be nice and warm with heating for patrons to come together to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games on Nine.’
Set to the beautiful backdrop of Paris, this will be a great event on the large screen.
‘Each Paralympic sport will have an event held at iconic sites that are representative of France’s heritage,’ said Rowena.
‘So why not bring a friend or the children and cheer on your favourite countries and athletes and join us at Bellingen Library for this free screening of the Games in Paris.’
