Bellingen Shire Community Awards Night 2025

The Bellingen Shire Council extends a warm invitation to the residents of the Shire and beyond to join in the celebration of the annual Bellingen Shire Community Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place on Thursday 23 January at the Bellingen Memorial Hall.
The Community Awards serve as a platform to honour and recognise the tireless efforts of local heroes who consistently contribute to the betterment of the Shire. This event is an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of individuals who selflessly show up every day to make a positive impact on our community.
Nominations for the awards were open to the public, and this year we received nominations of a very high calibre in each category; Citizen of the Year Award, Young Citizen of the Year Award, Sport & Recreation Award, and the Home-Grown Heroes Award. Council expresses its thanks to those who took the time and effort to nominate deserving candidates.
Mayor Cr. Steve Allan shared his enthusiasm, stating, “It was great to see the detail and effort that went into the nominations this year. It was a competitive and high-quality section of nominees, which made the judging very challenging – but rewarding.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and live music by Jazz Trio Katie, Memo and Georgie Chorley creating a vibrant atmosphere as we reflect on the accomplishments of the community throughout 2024.
