Bellingen Shire Council invites residents to a special Community Service Stalls Day and free morning tea at Dorrigo Community Hall on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, from 10am to 2pm. This event coincides with the visit of the NSW Service Bus, making it a fantastic opportunity to access essential services all in one place.

The event will bring together a wide range of community service providers supporting the Bellingen Shire Local Government Area, offering residents a unique chance to learn about available programs, connect with service representatives, and access support.

This event is particularly timely given the recent impacts of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and the previous closure of Dorrigo Mountain, which have further highlighted the challenges faced by isolated communities in accessing essential services. By bringing multiple service providers together in one location, this event also aims to support residents in their recovery and ongoing wellbeing.

The Service NSW Bus will be stationed in front of 51 Hickory St, Dorrigo, providing convenient access to vital government services, including Driver Knowledge Tests, Savings Finder Program and available rebates, Working with Children Checks, Births, deaths, and marriage applications and Driver’s license applications and renewals.

The Community Service Stalls Day will include a diverse array of service providers, including but not limited to, Services Australia, Disability Advocacy, Mission Australia, Wesley Mission, Social Futures, Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire, Mid North Coast Legal, Community Care Options, Mid North Coast Local Health District, Carers NSW, BlueSky Community Services, Community Transport, Vinnies Conference, and the EACH Care Finder Program.

"We’re thrilled to provide this opportunity for services and community members to connect,” Mayor Cr. Steve Allan said. “Many of these organisations do not have a permanent presence in our area, making travel and isolation significant barriers to access.

“This event helps bridge that gap, ensuring our community members can receive the support they need."

Community members are encouraged to drop by anytime between 10am and 2pm to chat with dedicated service staff and learn about the assistance available. A free morning tea will be provided, offering a welcoming space for conversations and connections.

Please note: In the event of wet weather, the event will be cancelled. Updates will be provided via Council’s website and social media channels.
