Temporary closure of the Bellingen Pool - unplanned maintenance

The Bellingen pool will be temporarily closed from 18 to 24 December to accommodate necessary unplanned maintenance works.

The Y NSW, who manage the Bellingen and Dorrigo pools, have identified an issue with the filtration system at the Bellingen Swim Centre. To undertake the work, the filtration system needs to be switched off so to access the part of the equipment which needs to be repaired. As the filtration system helps regulate the condition of the water in the pool, patrons will not be able to use the facility and the pool will need to be closed.

It is expected that the unplanned maintenance works will take up to 5 days to complete and an additional 1 to 2 days is required to reset the water to ensure the quality is up to standard for patrons to use when it reopens. 

The works are planned to commence from 18 through to 24 December. As both Dorrigo and Bellingen pools are normally closed on Christmas Day, patrons will again be able to access the pool from Tuesday 26 December.

While there is never an ideal time to close our well-used facility, Council and the Y NSW thank patrons for their understanding and look forward to inviting our community back from Boxing Day.
