David Helfgott Portrait Unveiling at the BMH Donated by Cherry Hood

The Bellingen Memorial Hall has proudly unveiled a magnificent portrait of David Helfgott, graciously donated by renowned Australian artist Cherry Hood. The wall length feature was crafted in 2009 and now finds its rightful placewithin the Hall's walls as a symbol of both artistic brilliance and creative community inspiration.

Disability Inclusive Emergency Planning (DIEP) Forum

Bellingen Shire Council in partnership with the University of Sydney's Leave Nobody Behind project, hosted the first Disability Inclusive Emergency Planning (DIEP) Forum. The forum addressed the critical issue of the vulnerability of people with disabilities during climate and disaster risks and their limited involvement in emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction, and decision-making.
